A road journey from the sleepy hamlet of Sanvorcotto, of Cuncolim town in South Goa to Pune metropolis is a good 459 kms and with take close to ten hours to reach by road. With Covid pandemic in full flow in India taking the long distance travel is certainly not a feasible option and is fraught with various travel restriction and allied matters.

The question which props up is how to connect with your kith and kin. All the people who have had been connected with your life’s over the years and who have helped you shape your personality in one way or the other. You want to bring cheer and smiles to those faces who have been part of your life but cannot do it by being physical present. The neigbhours and well wishers you want to help.

Do not worry, Smart Sanvorcotto are at help to assist you and see that help is delivered to those in need in Sanvorcotto.

Smart Sanvorcotto is on a mission to make the place a smart place in all aspects and they are well on the track. Municipal election over, the first thing they have done is to install convex mirrors at six places in Sanvorcotto and plans are afoot to install some CCTV cameras.

It was a birthday gift to people of Sanvorcotto by the newly elected councilor John Dias and where inaugurated by the senior citizens of the Ward.

Away from the cameras they have made plans to give ration for needy. Four families have been identified and the sponsors are based in Pune and New Zealand.

“The plan is to identify needy families...we will short list  names  n provide quarterly ration for 10 families through our friends sponsorship..if anyone wants to be a part of Smart Sanvorcoto by way of sponsorship/donation please let us know..names will be confidential.” Smart Sanvorcoto core committee.

“All garbage collectors were provided with protectives. Those who are Covid infected will be given separate colored garbage bins and will be collected on Wednesday n Saturday only.. help us to help you. Stay safe.

We appeal to the people of Sanvorcoto, not to create rush at grocery stores. All essentials will be available during the 15 day State Level Curfew.

 

All DDSSY cards will auto renewed with no cost to the beneficiaries. The beneficiaries also need not visit health centers for renewal. We have taken this decision for the benefit of Goans in these tough times. Over 2.5 lakh families will be benefited in Goa

Today afternoon I had one to one with CO of Cuncolim municipal regarding garbage issue and it will be collected from tomorrow (alternately) morning only. And also all garbage collector were provided with protectives. Those who r covid infected will be given separate coloured garbage bins and will be collected on Wednesday n Saturday only.. please pass message to those without access....help us to help you. Stay safe..
