These were part of the findings of Fr Rui Domingos Pereira which have brought out some unknown facts about the community. The life of the Khasis is governed by three basic principles - Kamai ia ka Hok, Tip-briew tip-Blei and Tip kur, Tip Kha. [NT]

Primarily, they help in filtering air and sunlight provide a passageway for them, however they remain an artistically explored part of Goan Architecture.
