The board members of Gulf Publishing and Printing Company chaired by HE Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Attiyah has decided to put on hold the print edition of Gulf Times newspaper starting from March 18, 2020, until further notice. The decision was taken due to logistic issues that prevent completing the printing process at the company’s press in the Industrial Area. We notify that Gulf Times will be issued in the PDF format on the newspaper's website ( www.gulf-times.com ) as usual. Gulf Times will continue working through its website and digital platforms continuously to cover the latest news and developments. This decision comes in line with the precautionary measures taken by the State of Qatar to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Goan music some historical background

Goans simply love music. Music is an integral part of every Goan?s life. In Goa, it covers a broad spectrum, from Portuguese music to Techno to rave and now the famous Goa Trance, but it was devotional music that set the trend for Goan folk music, which gradually turned into Konkani music. Let?s briefly have a look at Goa?s musical past, which was mainly influenced by South Indian music. India has in all 28 states. Each state has its own culture. It is this characteristic (diversified cultures) that separates India from other countries in the world. Each state?s folk dance forms an integral part of its culture.
