Smell the coffee and have it with Cuncolim’s Goes brothers at Café Bom Gosto

In small towns like Cuncolim people generally prefer going to nearby cities whenever it comes to organizing meetings. Bom Gosto was a small effort from me and my brother to provide Cuncolimites a scope to gather their artistic and intellectual potential and discuss it all in one place.

Iconic Red Door, Mini Library & Fab Interiors, Café Bom Gosto, Cuncolim is the Perfect Coffee Place

Cuncolim, South Goa has just got a new foodie destination in Café Bom Gosto and is Cuncolim’s first premium coffee shop. It is founded by Goes Brothers, Rohan Goes and Milroy Goes, who are talented in their own fields!

Rohan is a GettyImages recognised travel photographer, World Photographic Cup Team Leader for India and has also authored a book, ‘How did I travel to China’. Milroy is a renowned filmmaker and has directed ‘Welcome Millions’ that represented India at the 91st Academy Awards (Oscars) 2019. Together these brothers own Buenos Muzik LLC in Wyoming, USA and Goa, India.

And this chic café is a product of their creative juices combined. The core theme of Café Bom Gosto, which means good taste in Portuguese, is coffee, music and books! This premium coffee shop has a grand entrance which is a fetching red British telephone door. Behind that door lies insanely cute interiors, a mini library, open piano and guitar.

Located in the heart of Cuncolim at MJ Residency, Voddy, this pretty café is very close to the Cuncolim Kadamba Bus Stand. Its interior colours are inspired by a blend of Jewish and Portuguese elements, and the walls are adorned with curated photographs clicked by Rohan.

The tagline of Café Bom Gosto is “Have an intellectual conversation over a coffee” and we have no doubts that the ambiance created here is all that and more! The coffee here is simply delicious and their USP. Along with scrummy burgers. You must also try their pastries such as Pastéis de Nata, Éclairs and Nutella Walnut Brownie. The location adds serene vibes, and you are always greeted with a smile here.

The need to open the café came from the fact that there are not many options to take business meetings in Cuncolim and Milroy had to travel all the way to Margao or North Goa for his film business meetings. So, the brothers came up with the idea to open a premium café right here in Cuncolim.

Like everyone, the pandemic hasn’t been easy for them either. With restrictions in place, they made the best possible use of social media (particularly Instagram), their website and WhatsApp groups to keep the Cuncolkars happy. The café has been doing good business, became mobile, started home deliveries within Cuncolim and even expanded their radius to Assolna, Velim and Chinchinim.

They don’t wish to stop at one, they have a vision to turn this brand into a franchise. And we surely see that happening!

One look at their Instagram feed and we are hungry! We simply cannot wait to head here, soak in the vibes and let the conversation flow over a cup of coffee and click tons of pics for the ‘gram. But till then, we are bringing home their best offerings by ordering in. Why don’t you do too?!

You can contact them over WhatsApp here.
